Do you see this handsome man? Among his more endearing qualities is the fact that he willingly and without complaint eats everything that I put infront of him. I heartily enjoy cooking but I am still getting the hang of it. The poor guy has suffered through burnt, dry, and "too spicy" food in the past year but he has never once complained and is always grateful. I don't tell him this often enough but I really appreciate it that he is so patient in that area, especially since I usually serve him much healthier food than he wants to eat. I've been mostly vegetarian (an explanation for another time) for about a year and a half now and more often than not that's what I cook. Every once in a while I'll throw in some meat stuff but honestly I'm really not good at cooking it. My favorites are when I pretend to serve him meat and are really just vegan alternatives. Usually I don't bother but I think it makes him feel better. Tonight I definitely fed him vegan "meatballs" and he didn't even notice that they weren't real meat. Usually I point it out so that he realizes that I pulled one over on him once he has already decided that he enjoyed them but tonight I decided not to. He did request that I make them again so I think that I will probably just keep making them and spring it on him eventually. I'll get to him eventually and turn him into a veggie. Well. Okay, maybe not completely but every little bit counts.
On a semi related note, I've been really lazy with my health lately but I really want to make a change. This isn't the first time I've felt like this but I don't have any way to keep myself accountable. I think that is how I am going to use this blog. As an accountability partner for my life. We'll see how it goes.
